Tripping out
Moebius is the largest visual influence on my sound. Yeah that doesn’t make sense…but it makes sense… Particularly when I’m 4 AM rambling. Go read Arzach…id ain’t got no words, yet reads like Breton and Jodorowsky scammed Michael Bay out of millions to make a movie…but instead bought a lot of peyote made a dinky ass comic book, and laughed about it over expensive cheap wine.
Think I’ll go to sleep now.

P.P.P.S. - It was cool to hear Desire’s “Under Your Spell” in Drive…she has one of those voices you have an immediate love/hate relationship with. That was my joint last winter…or was it Fall? I don’t remember.

Our peoples get up with our folk and build….My boy Creature (my crewmate from Mike Ladd’s Infesticons/Majesticons projects…if you haven’t heard our Bedford Park album from 2010 yet…get crackin’) known for his intense delivery and insane live performances took a beat CD handed to him by the legendary Prefuse 73…and did what DIY artists do best.
Then he hooked up with our folks on the other side of the ocean…the Marathon of Dope kids for an assist on the digital distro….and boom. Go listen.
Kubrick
So there’s the whole conspiracy theory that Kubrick is the one who actually shot the footage of man’s first landing on the moon. Hey why not…
I’m beginning to believe Kubrick is also the mastermind of hip-hop circa 2000-now.
I’m waiting for the curtain to drop and the “wizard” inadvertently reveals himself pulling and pushing levers…

Its been a kick ass Summer…and it ain’t even over yet! We’re taking a working vacation for the next few weeks. Steeples is shooting back to back movies and I’m about to exile myself to a mountainside to start grabbing ideas for the next project. It helps when that mountainside sits above a beach…and there’s pretty much beach all around. islands tend to do that little magic trick…
Summer hasn’t been all play though…some new tracks bouncing around…and I’ve been producing…you may hear the Ninjasonik cats talk and post about Lucas (the future…and offspring of pioneering alt-rap crew New Kingdom emcee Jim Kelly)…I’m hard at work cranking out some slow burners and bangers for him. Tooling around a bit with Danny Chavis from Apollo Heights in the studio…We got more medicine.
Get ready for all that though…it might make you do wild things if you’re unprepared…

Yo we’re thrilled for all the positive response we’ve been getting so far with Medicine Babies. We wanted to really thank everyone for following us. We also want to thank Pitchfork, MTV Hive, NME, Q Magazine, Culturebully, SubaKulcha, Cowbell Magazine, Vogue and Rolling Stone in Italy, Bold As Love, RCRD LBL, Prefix, Alternative Press and everyone else who has given us a little love in the past few weeks/months.
One of our next moves is to actually get this tumblr thing kicked over in high gear. We have tons of content we want to start getting out on this site. We’ve been in the background recording videos of live shows, and music vids to support Medicine Babies.
In the future we’ve got a lot more stuff we want to start posting…but for now our attention is on our album. We have a lot more in store, so pick up the album if you haven’t heard it…then kick back because we’ve got a few badass remixes on deck…
